Mirine Richey has a Master’s Degree in Public Health and has been an IBCLC since 2009. Mirine has worked in hospitals, birth centers, health department programs, and national programs as a lactation program trainer and epidemiologist since 2010. Mirine is currently a faculty member of Florida State University. She’s also a mom of 2 girls and brought passion for helping mothers into every aspect of her career!
Melissa Portunato
MPH, IBCLC, RLC
Melissa Portunato is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and holds a Master’s Degree in Health and Wellness, with a focus on Lactation Consulting. Melissa has 5 children and is currently breastfeeding her youngest. She pursued her lactation calling in 2011 after being unsuccessful at nursing her first two children. She began her lactation career in private practice providing affordable evidence-based care to local breastfeeding families. She has worked for the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where she provided specialized lactation care in the NICU, and Cardiac Unit. Additionally, she has worked in the ethnically diverse communities of South Florida alongside experienced and re-certified IBCLCs in the WIC Program. Melissa is passionate about normalizing breastfeeding and providing genuine lactation care to all families.
